Inspired by the Indian Match Box Art, these are fresh creations of match box labels. Carefully chosen subjects like Alibag, South Mumbai & few of the Bollywood, sports & political personalities. Mumbai’s modes of transport like Best bus or an Auto rickshaw or the Matchbox labels designed on the heritage buildings of South Mumbai like Gateway of India or Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus bring authenticity to these labels. Each label is an original artwork created by Rajesh Joshi. This type of art is universally known as Pop Art but Rajesh, the artist & creator of these unique Match Box Labels proudly calls it as one of the folk art forms of India. Rajesh has graduated from Sir J J Institute of Applied Arts, Mumbai; he is a professional advertising photographer, based in Mumbai.
